AKRON, Ohio — The Lady Jackets lost 10-3 to Hillsdale in the season finale at Firestone Stadium.
Cedarville (18-34) struck first in the second inning when
Emma Wylie delivered an RBI single to score
Ella Leonard. The Lady Jackets carried the 1-0 lead through four innings behind steady play defensively and on the mound.
Hillsdale responded in the fifth, using a string of extra-base hits to plate seven runs and take control. The Chargers added two more runs in the sixth to extend the margin.
The Lady Jackets answered with two runs in the sixth.
Anna Weathers lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home a run, and Leonard later drove in another after reaching on an error.
Cedarville totaled five hits in the contest.
Lindsey Linker led the way with a double, while Wylie, Leonard,
Anna Gardner, and
Anna Gorshak each contributed a hit. Wylie added an RBI while pitching four innings in the start.
Cedarville finishes the season with a 10-14 record in the G-MAC and 18-34 overall.
