MASON, Ohio – No. 4 seed Kentucky Wesleyan erased a seven-run deficit and defeated the No. 5 Yellow Jackets, 10-8, in the G-MAC opener at Prasco Park's Legacy Field.
The outcome places Cedarville in an elimination game against No. 8 Ohio Dominican on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
The Jackets scored four runs in the fourth inning which was capped off on a two-run single by
Grant Poindexter to take a 5-0 lead.
Grayson Weikel hit a towering home run in the sixth for a 6-1 margin. In the seventh,
Graham Ward tripled in a run and
Micah George added an RBI double for an 8-1 bulge.
However, the Panthers sent 13 batters to the plate in the bottom of the seventh and scored eight runs on seven hits, two walks, and a hit batter before adding an insurance run in the eighth.
Eli Henderson finished 3-for-3 with two walks, a run scored, and an RBI. Poindexter, Weikel, and
Max Doepker had two hits apiece.
Cedarville had its seven-game winning streak snapped to fall to 23-26.
