CEDARVILLE, Ohio – CU jumped out to a two-set advantage before Gannon rallied for a 13-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-22, 15-11 victory Friday night at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets dominated the opening set, racing to a 10-0 lead and hitting .571 without an attack error. This strong start was followed with a 25-19 decision in the second to take a 2-0 lead.
Gannon responded by winning the next two sets to force a fifth. The finale featured eight ties, including 11-11, before the visitors scored the final four points.
Madelyn Hensley led Cedarville with 13 kills while
Allie Pilat added 11.
Sidney Shepherd totaled 31 assists, six kills, eight digs, and two service aces.
Alivia Rutt led the team with 15 digs. Cedarville registered 12 team blocks, highlighted by
Carley Craighead's six block assists, and served eight aces.
The Lady Jackets will face #1 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday in the final match of the Cedarville Invitational.
