CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville closed out the weekend with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-21 loss to Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday at the Callan Athletic Center.
CU battled through six ties and four lead changes in the opener. This included a 17-14 advantage before CSP rallied to take the initial set.
After dropping a quick second set, the Lady Jackets responded with their best offensive performance in the third. Despite the Golden Bears pulling away late for the victory, the home side put up strong resistance totalling 16 kills while hitting .333.
Madelyn Hensley led the team with 12 kills while hitting .294 and added five digs. Carley Craighead finished with four kills on a .308 attack percentage and was involved in four total blocks.
Sidney Shepherd dished out 21 assists with seven digs, while Alivia Rutt led the back row with 11 digs.
Cedarville falls to a 1-2 record overall.
Next up for the Lady Jackets is the Grand Rapids Downtown Classic, beginning Friday against Slippery Rock.
