CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville opened the 2026 volleyball season with a five-set victory over #24 Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets rallied from deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 to claim the well fought 21-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-19, 17-15 win.
CU forced the fifth set by hitting .400 as a team in a 25-19 fourth-set victory. The finale featured 10 ties before
Madelyn Hensley delivered consecutive kills to give them a 16-15 lead and
Allie Pilat clinched the match with her 21st kill.
Pilat hit .357 with a match-high 21 kills while Hensley added 14 and
Alicia Howard totaled 10.
Sidney Shepherd handed out 48 assists and
Alivia Rutt led the defense with 15 digs.
The Lady Jackets were especially effective at the net with 20 total blocks, including seven solo blocks and 26 block assists. Howard was involved in 10 blocks and Shepherd in nine.
Next up Cedarville will face #23 Gannon in the nightcap of the Cedarville Invitational.
