Cedarville group heads to NAIA

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - A contingent of 31 athletes will represent Cedarville University at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be staged on the campus of Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville on May 21-23.

A total of 13 women will be making the trip including six who were NAIA All-Americans last year. Heading the list is Nicole Santos, an All-American in the 5K and 10K last spring, and the 2009 indoor 5,000 meter champion.

Other returning All-Americans (top six finishers) are Bethany Davies (400), Elisabeth Pyles (3,000 steeplechase), Marla Rice (4 x 400), Brittany Simpson (5,000), and Lydia Wong (1,500).

The Yellow Jacket men have 18 athletes making the trip. Four of those will be in the 5,000 meter race walk including All-Americans Seth Campbell and Josh Wiseman, who won the 3K title indoors this past winter. Also competing will be two-time outdoor All-American Ben Michaud in the shot put.
