CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Derrick Hannon scored 11 of Cedarville's last 13 points to spark the NAIA Division II #8 Yellow Jackets to a 75-69 victory over Taylor in a non-conference game played in the Callan Athletic Center.

Cedarville faced a one-point deficit in the final three minutes when a lay-up by Hannon gave the hosts the lead for good with 2:35 left. A Christopher Walker steal and basket was followed by another Trojan hoop for a 68-67 difference at the 1:50 mark.

Hannon answered with a three-point play with 1:29 remaining. He added four more free throws down the stretch to seal the outcome.

Ricardo Alliman netted 18 points for the Yellow Jackets, 8-3 overall. Hannon finished with 17 points, Matt Harner had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Walker chipped in 10 points.

Cedarville shot 53 percent from the field for the game in spite of indescribable numbers from outside the arc and at the charity stripe. The Jackets were just 4-of-20 from three-point land and they hit only 1-of-11 free throws in the first half. However, they converted 10-of-16 freebies in the second period.

CU built as much as a 13-point lead in the first half. Taylor scored nine of the final 11 points of the frame to get within 35-32 by the intermission. The Trojans dip to 7-6 on the season. [STATS]
