WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Cedarville departed the Grace College Classic with a 2-2 mark after losing to tournament champion Indiana-East and defeating the host Lancers.
IU-East pulled out three consecutive close sets to claim the opener 25-23, 28-26, 27-25. Emily Shade, who was later named to the seven player all-tournament team, produced 10 kills and five blocks. Kylee Husak added seven kills and five blocks.
Erica Bartholomew had 26 assists with nine digs while Liz Sweeney matched her with nine digs. Heather Kirkpatrick handled 25 passes without an error. [STATS]
Cedarville ended its two-day stay with a 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-21 win over Grace. Husak paced a balanced attack at the net with 11 kills and three blocks. Shade recorded six kills and three blocks while Sarah Hartman chipped in five kills and four blocks.
Bartholomew was good for 26 assists. Emilie Lynch notched four service aces and Katherine MacKenzie led the back row with 11 digs. [STATS]
