Winik, Wong lead Lady Jackets in opener

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Alexa Winik met the NAIA qualifying standard in two events and Lydia Wong set a meet record to guide the Lady Jackets to a second-place finish in the Cedarville Invitational at the Doden Field House.

Winik won the 200 meter dash in 25.85 seconds to beat the NAIA automatic qualifying mark of 25.88. She was the runner-up in the 55 meter final in 7.33, but her time of 7.31 in the prelims was exactly on the mark needed to advance in the 60 meter dash at the NAIA Indoor Championship.

Wong set a meet record in winning the 800 meters in 2:19.76. She and Winik joined Katie Lanphier and Joy Santos to win the 4 x 400 meter relay in 4:08.36.

Rachel Wong was victorious in the 600 meters in 1:44.02. Neola Putnam picked up a win in the mile run with a time of 5:25.46.

Wright State won the nine-team event with 253 points. Cedarville was next with 159 while Wilmington placed 3rd with 91 points. [COMPLETE RESULTS]
