Cedarville gets by UNOH

LIMA, Ohio - Ricardo Alliman and Matt Harner scored 21 points apiece to lead the NAIA Division II #22 Yellow Jackets to a 77-66 American Mideast Conference victory at Northwestern Ohio.

Despite taking the lead for good five-plus minutes into the contest, the match-up was closer than the final would indicate. A 10-point first-half margin was trimmed to 32-27 by the intermission.

The Racers got to within a point in the opening five minutes of the second half and twice had the ball in an attempt to take the lead. However, Cedarville's defense prevailed and a pair of three-point plays by Alliman eventually helped push the difference back to double figures. The Jackets twice enjoyed 15-point leads late in the game.

Harner, who scored CU's first 11 points, was 8-for-11 from the field including 3-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc. He also added six assists for the Yellow Jackets, 14-7 overall and 6-2 AMC, who won for the fourth straight time.

Alliman went 8-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-6 at the line to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. Austin Foote came off the bench with 10 points and Derrick Hannon matched Harner with six assists.

Cedarville shot 59 percent from the field in the second half while checking the Racers on 39 percent shooting for the game. UNOH is 12-11 and 4-6 AMC. [STATS]
