CU rolls to 4-0 victory

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets scored three times in the second half to complete a dominant performance over American Mideast Conference foe Point Park, 4-0, in the annual Homecoming match.

Cedarville, 5-6 overall and 3-1 AMC, outshot the Pioneers 30-2 overall and 15-0 in shots on goal, but it took awhile to put the visitors away.

Despite a 17-1 bulge in shots during the first half, only Kelly Wise could put the ball into the net. She poked in her third score of the season from close range unassisted in the 8th minute.

The Lady Jackets broke it open over the course of the final period. Jaimie Watkins netted her team-high fifth goal of the campaign from Deanne Bradshaw in the 55th minute for a 2-0 lead. Her high shot hit the underside of the crossbar and ricocheted in.

Rachel Brownfield found the net in the 69th minute with Anna Schmid assisting. Amanda Bunton completed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 80th.

Alysia Bennett played the first 79 minutes in goal and was replaced by Nicole Strehle for the final 11. Neither player was called upon to make a save.
