Bradshaw's goal stuns Daemen

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Deanne Bradshaw's first collegiate goal was a big one as her score in the 89th minute completed a Cedarville comeback for a 2-1 victory over Daemen in an American Mideast Conference match played on Senior Day.

Bradshaw was in the right spot as the ball came her way just outside the right corner of the penalty area. The freshman midfielder ran on to it and lofted a 20-yard shot high into the net on the near post with 1:35 left on the clock.

Daemen, who drops to 10-5-1 overall and 5-4-1 AMC, got on the board first in the 17th minute. It came off a re-start at the top of the 18-yard line.

Bradshaw's game winner was made possible when Kelly Wise knotted the score in the 50th minute. Dresden Matson placed a pass in a crowd when Wise got enough on the ball to redirect it off of a defender.

The Lady Jackets improve to 6-9-1 and 4-3-1 AMC. They outshot the Wildcats 16-6 overall and 8-1 in shots on goal. Neither starting keeper Nicole Strehle (17 minutes) nor Alysia Bennett (73 minutes) were called upon to make a save.

Prior to the match, graduating seniors Lacie Condon, Megan Spring, Bethany Wailes, Jaimie Watkins, and Wise were all honored.
