CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Ricardo Alliman reached a rebounding milestone and the NAIA Division II #18 Yellow Jackets won their eighth straight American Mideast Conference game with an 80-57 decision over Shawnee State in the Callan Athletic Center.
It took awhile, but Cedarville was finally able to pull away from the young Bears in the second half. Once a 38-23 halftime lead melted to seven points, the Jackets outscored the visitors 40-24 the rest of the way by shooting 60 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes.
Alliman finished with 15 points and nine rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, 18-8 overall and 10-2 AMC. He became just the eighth player in Cedarville's long basketball history to surpass 1,000 career rebounds. The last player to do it was two-time NAIA All-American Mugabe Thomas in 2006.
Chris Beals netted 17 points with Matt Harner chipping in 10. Haddon Anderson came off the bench with a game-high five assists. Shawnee State falls to 7-18 and 4-8 AMC. [STATS]
