URBANA, Ohio - Urbana handed NAIA Division II #18 Cedarville its worst setback of the season with an 88-71 non-conference decision that ended the Yellow Jackets' six-game winning string.

The Blue Knights, who were saddled with a 22-point loss in the Callan Athletic Center on Jan. 9, rose to the occasion this time with surprisingly torrid long-range shooting.

Urbana entered the contest averaging just 6.5 three-pointers made per game on 30-percent accuracy from beyond the arc. However, the hosts made 12 bombs in the game including a 7-for-12 effort in the first half for 58 percent.

Cedarville, 16-8 overall, got off to a good start and built a 21-12 lead in the first eight minutes. Urbana answered with four consecutive treys en route to a 43-38 halftime edge.

The Blue Knights extended the difference to 70-57 with 7:45 left. The Yellow Jackets responded with three straight three-pointers to get within four points, but Urbana drilled yet another triple to begin an 18-5 flurry to finish the game.

Ricardo Alliman had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Beals scored 18 points and Brandon Sok came off the bench with 12. Urbana improves to 12-10. [STATS]
