Price, Stoltzfus shut down Capital

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Starting pitchers Clint Price and Colby Stoltzfus checked Capital on five hits total as Cedarville swept the Crusaders, 4-0 and 6-0, at the Snowbird Classic.

Price tossed a complete-game two-hitter in the opener. He struck out six and walked just one.

The Yellow Jackets got all they needed in the bottom of the 1st inning when Brandon Young drove in Tyler Rost on a fielder's choice grounder. CU tallied its other three runs in the 3rd when Nate Davenport delivered an RBI single and Paul Hembekides added a two-run double. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]

Stoltzfus allowed three singles in 6 2/3 innings of the second contest. He fanned five batters without issuing a walk for Cedarville, 2-2 overall.

Davenport doubled in a run in the 4th to get the scoring started. After plating an unearned run in the 5th, rookie Rob Nesteroff produced a two-run single in the 6th. The final two tallies came in the 7th on Young's RBI single and a run-scoring double by Derek Graham.

Nesteroff finished 2-for-3 and also came on in relief to register the final out of the game. Graham and Alex Beelen added two hits apiece. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
