XENIA, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets shook off the rust from having not played in ten days by squeaking out a 4-3 non-conference victory over Miami-Hamilton at the Athletes in Action Complex.
Cedarville made the most of its six hits, three of which went for extra bases, to win for the fifth straight time to improve to 8-3 overall. The Jackets also took advantage of eight walks and six stolen bases.
CU went hitless until David Convertini hammered a one-out ground rule double to left center in the 4th inning. Nate Davenport ripped an 0-2 pitch to right center for triple that scored courtesy runner Sam Rowe with the game's first run. Davenport later stole home on the back end of a double steal with Derek Graham taking second.
After the Harriers scored a run in the 5th, the Yellow Jackets pushed two unearned runs across in their half of the frame. One came on an RBI single by Rob Nesteroff with the other on a sacrifice fly by Davenport.
