Exciting finish gives Jackets sweep of Walsh

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Nate Davenport's RBI single with two outs in the bottom of 7th inning gave Cedarville an 11-10 come-from-behind victory over Walsh and a sweep of their American Mideast Conference doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets rolled to a 9-0 win in the opener.

Cedarville, 11-4 overall and 3-1 AMC, rallied twice late to pull out the win. They needed three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to forge an 8-8 deadlock. After the Cavaliers scored twice in the top of the 7th for a 10-8 lead, CU plated three runs after the first batter was retired in its final at bat.

Alex Beelen walked with the bases loaded for the first run and David Convertini tied it on an RBI ground out. Davenport drove home Rob Nesteroff with his team-leading 23rd RBI of the season to end it.

Davenport finished 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs batted in. Nesteroff was 3-for-3 with a triple, three RBI's, and two runs scored while Tyler Rost was 3-for-4 and scored three times.

Nate Wilson tallied two hits and three runs scored. Paul Hembekides added two hits. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

#T.J. Taylor# spun a complete-game four-hitter and Nate Wilson slugged a two-run homer to highlight the opener. Taylor fanned two and walked one while improving his record to 2-1.

Nesteroff was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Davenport had two hits and three RBI's, Convertini produced a pair of hits and two RBI's, and Rost had a double, walked twice, and scored three runs. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]
