ATLANTA, Ga. - Cedarville opened the outdoor schedule by winning the Emory Invitational. The Lady Jackets met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark in two individual events and one relay.
Lydia Wong was a winner in the 1,500 meters in 4:36.30. She is a two-time NAIA All-American in the event and also holds the school record.
The other individual automatic qualifier was Alexa Winik in the 200 meter dash. She posted a runner-up mark of 25.09 seconds.
The 4 x 800 meter relay squad was also an NAIA automatic qualifier with a winning time of 9:33.34. Lydia Wong teamed up with younger sisters Abby Wong and Rachel Wong as well as Carolyn Case to get the victory.
Tara Leaman was a winner in both the hammer (143-2) and discus (126-10). Sarah Hannay won the shot put with a heave of 35-9.25 and was 2nd in the hammer at 113-10. Winik was the runner-up in the 100 meter dash in 12.28 seconds.
Cedarville won the 12-team meet with 143 points. The Jackets were followed by Hope (135) and Emory (126) in the standings.
