Cedarville hits for two more victories

NAPLES, Fla. - The Yellow Jackets broke a tie game with five runs in the 7th inning to spark a 14-9 win at Ave Maria for their second victory of the day. They earlier knocked off John Carroll, 8-5.

Cedarville, 6-3 overall, hammered out 15 hits at Ave Maria. Leadoff hitter Sam Rowe paved the way by going 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored.

Alex Beelen, Paul Hembekides, and Brandon Young all had two hits and two runs batted in each. Chris Ward added two hits and Tyler Rost contributed two RBI's.

The Jackets left 13 runners on base, but the host Gyrenes stranded 15. Rob Wasem was credited with his second win on the trip in relief. [AVE MARIA BOXSCORE]

Cedarville defeated John Carroll for the second day in a row. Nate Davenport clubbed his fifth home run of the season while rookie Rob Nesteroff hammered his first collegiate homer.

Young tallied three hits including two doubles. Davenport and Beelen registered two hits apiece. Rost came on in relief to pick up the victory. [JOHN CARROLL BOXSCORE]
