ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Cedarville jumped on Clearwater Christian early and finished up its spring break trip with a convincing 15-4 win.
What a difference a week makes. The Yellow Jackets, who come home with a 7-3 record, struggled in their season openers with the Cougars seven days earlier and got swept in a doubleheader.
This time, Cedarville scored twice in its first at bat and plated seven more runs in the 2nd inning. The contest was ultimately halted in the 7th by the 10-run mercy rule.
No less than 18 Jackets saw action. Derek Graham went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in and two runs scored. Andrew York and Alex Beelen contributed two hits each to the 13-hit attack. Winning pitcher Colby Stoltzfus went 5 1/3 innings and improved to 2-0. [BOXSCORE]
