CINCINNATI, Ohio - Tara Leaman broke the school record in the hammer throw at the University of Cincinnati Invitational and automatically qualified for the NAIA National Championship in the event.

Leaman had a toss of 49.07 meters (161-feet) to place 8th in the hammer. She erased the previous school mark of 158-8 set by Michalina Gluchowski in 2003. Leaman also finished 4th in the javelin at 35.84 meters.

Alexa Winik was the runner-up in the 400 meter dash in 57.04 seconds to meet the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. Lydia Wong lowered her NAIA auto time in the 800 meters with a 4th-place effort of 2:13.70.

Elsewhere, Katie Lanphier was 4th in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:05.85. Courtnie Merritt placed 4th in the high jump by clearing 1.58 meters.

The Lady Jackets finished with 38 points and placed 8th of 15 schools. Host Cincinnati won the meet with 132.33 points and Kent State was the runner-up with 110.33.
