CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Spring Arbor scored all three of its goals in the first half to defeat the Lady Jackets, 3-1, in a non-conference battle to wrap up the Cedarville Classic.
The Cougars, 5-1 overall, found the net in the 9th minute to take the early lead. They tallied again in the 28th and 44th minutes for a three-goal cushion at the break.
The two teams played on even terms for the bulk of the second period. Cedarville, 1-2, got on the board when Jaimie Watkins converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute.
Each team was credited with six shots overall while Spring Arbor had the advantage in shots on goal, 5-2. Alysia Bennett made two saves.
In the first match of the day, Indiana Tech outplayed Rio Grande, 4-0.
