Lamos wins NCCAA title

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Hannah Lamos won the NCCAA women's cross country individual championship at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course becoming the third Lady Jacket in the last four years to accomplish the feat.

Lamos covered the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:29 to grab the win on her home course. She joins a list of nine Cedarville women who have won the race a total of ten times in the 31-year history of the meet.

Meghan Terrell finished 9th in 18:55 to join Lamos on the All-America team (Top 15 finishers).

The Lady Jackets, who had three of their top seven runners not competing, still placed 5th out of 25 schools. Malone defended its title with 59 points and was followed by California Baptist (75), Indiana Wesleyan (89), Roberts Wesleyan (104), and Cedarville (140).

Carolyn Case was 36th in 19:56. She was joined by teammates Jennifer Hollander (46th; 20:12), Abby Wong (51st; 20:19), Jessica Smith (53rd; 20:20), and Tabby Moore (78th; 21:15).

No less than nine Lady Jackets were honored as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes which includes juniors and seniors, who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average. The list features Carolyn Case, Jennifer Hollander, Krista Johnson, Hannah Lamos, Katie Lanphier, Neola Putnam, Meghan Terrell, Abby Wong, and Rachel Wong.
