David Lenhardt's two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning propelled the Yellow Jackets to a 4-3 victory over Urbana and a sweep of their Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader.
Cedarville edged the Blue Knights in the opener, 5-4.
Timely hitting and solid relief pitching secured the wins. It was a nice finish to the series for CU after getting blanked, 6-0, on Friday.
Trailing 3-2 in the nightcap,
David Ledbetter led off the sixth inning by reaching on an error. Lenhardt came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out and stroked a two-run single to left center to give the Yellow Jackets the lead.
Sean Larkin, 2-1, pitched two hitless innings in relief to get the win for Cedarville, 10-5 overall and 2-1 G-MAC.
Sam Summerlin totaled two hits, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base.
In the first game, the Yellow Jackets came from behind twice to get the victory.
Chris Ward's RBI groundout in the fifth followed by
Logan Kasabian's infield RBI single gave the home team a 4-3 lead.
Steve Cardwell's run-scoring single in the sixth added a critical insurance run.
