David Ledbetter had a big afternoon at the plate and Cedarville tallied eight runs in its final two at bats to come away with a 14-10 non-conference win at Kentucky State.
Ledbetter raised his batting average to .310 by going 4-for-6. He stole a base, scored three runs, and totaled three RBI's.
The Yellow Jackets, 11-5 overall, trailed 9-6 entering the eighth inning. They sent 11 batters to the plate and came up with six runs on four hits, three walks, a balk, and a hit batter. Ledbetter and
Steve Cardwell sparked the uprising with two-run singles.
Cedarville got a couple insurance runs in the ninth. Ledbetter delivered an RBI single and
Tyler Hurt drove in the other tally with a double.
Hurt finished 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBI's. Cardwell added two hits and two RBI's while
Dan Larkin had two hits and scored twice.
Leadoff hitter
Cam McWilliams returned to the line-up for the first time in ten games. He registered two hits including a double with a run scored and an RBI.
Logan Kasabian tripled and scored twice;
Chris Ward walked three times and drove in two runs; and
Ryan Ledbetter and
David Lenhardt crossed the plate two times apiece.
John Mark Edwards, the fourth of five CU pitchers, worked only a third of an inning, but it was good enough to record his first collegiate victory.
Sean Larkin handled the final two innings to get the save.
