David Ledbetter struck out 11 batters and
Sam Summerlin had three hits to pace a 16-hit attack in leading Cedarville to an 8-4 victory against Walsh in the Clearwater Invitational.
Ledbetter went the first seven innings and notched his first victory on the young season. He allowed two earned runs and walked just two.
It was a get together of former longtime conference rivals. The Cavaliers took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the third when CU struck for four runs.
Ryan Ledbetter capped off the frame with a two-out, two-run single.
The two sides traded runs until the seventh. The Yellow Jackets, 3-4 overall, tacked on the final two runs when Summerlin scored on a wild pitch and
Tyler Hurt delivered an RBI single.
Summerlin finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Dan Larkin had two hits with a double while
Chris Ward doubled and scored twice.
Logan Kasabian,
Ryan Ledbetter, and
Steve Cardwell came through with two hits each. Cedarville racked up 16 hits on the afternoon.
Walsh dips to 3-4.
