Tigers stop Cedarville, 7-4

Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - Campbellsville jumped out to a quick four-run lead and then had to hold off a Yellow Jacket comeback for a 7-4 non-conference victory.

A three-run second inning gave the host Tigers a 4-0 margin before Cedarville started to chip away.

Dan Larkin singled home Steve Cardwell in the fifth inning to put the Jackets on the board. After the home team made it 5-1, CU tacked three more runs on the board in the sixth.

The first four batters walked with Tyler Hurt drawing the last one with the bases loaded for an RBI. Ryan Ledbetter scored on a sacrifice fly and David Lenhardt added a sacrifice fly to bring Hurt across.

Cedarville left the bases loaded in the eighth. The Tigers, 28-17 overall, added two runs in the bottom half of the inning to account for the final.

Steve Cardwell had two hits for the Yellow Jackets, 20-10, who had their five-game winning streak snapped. Cedarville totaled nine hits, all singles, and stranded 10 runners on base.
