Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. - Grand Valley State placed four players in double figures while the Yellow Jackets struggled from the field during a 71-56 reversal in a non-conference contest.
The Lakers, 2-1, gave up the first two points of the game. They answered with a three-pointer and never trailed again.
Cedarville labored to 29 percent shooting in the first half and trailed, 36-28, at the break. GVSU was able to thwart any chance of a Jacket comeback in the second period by hitting 52 percent of its field goals.
Marcus Reineke scored a game-high 24 points and was the only player in twin figures for Cedarville, 1-3. No other teammate tallied more than seven points.
The Jackets play their fifth consecutive opponent from the GLIAC on Tuesday by hosting Hillsdale at 7:45 p.m. It will be the season opener for the Chargers.

"I thought we did better in the press today. Although we probably did not speed them up enough. But, we have to hit some shots to be a more effective pressing team. We can't really get the press set up when we can't get the ball in the basket. I thought we had some good looks, but we just couldn't get them to fall.
"They have a veteran team and when we tried to make a run they would answer. We have a lot of things to continue to improve on, but the game becomes a little easier if we can get some shots to fall."
