Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Hillsdale shook off the rust of playing its first game of the season to defeat Cedarville, 84-76, in non-conference action at the Callan Athletic Center.

The Yellow Jackets, 1-4 overall, enjoyed a trio of seven-point leads in the first half. However, they scored just six points in the final eight minutes and trailed 45-38 at the intermission.

Cedarville battled back from a nine-point hole to tie the contest, 64-64, with 8:15 left. The Chargers scored the next seven points and never trailed again.

Marcus Reineke poured in 30 points as the only Yellow Jacket to reach double figures for the second straight outing. J.C. Faubion had nine points while Easton Bazzoli and Austin Pickett chipped in eight apiece.

Cedarville heads to the Southern Indiana Classic this weekend to face Bellarmine on Friday at 6:15 p.m. EST.

"That was a tough loss. Hillsdale is a good program, well-coached and big. We had our chances despite making a few mistakes late that led to breakaways for them.

"We got the game on the pace we wanted. But, we just couldn't capitalize when we needed to whether it was an offensive rebound by Hillsdale or a missed shot or free throw by us.

"I was really proud of our effort. It was probably the best we've played to date. We have to eventually shoot like we are capable of and we have to rebound better. We're getting close."
