Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Alderson Broaddus rained on CU's Homecoming and doubled up the NSCAA NCAA Division II #24 Yellow Jackets, 4-2, in a key G-MAC contest.
Cedarville, 8-2-1 and 5-1 G-MAC, had it's eight-game unbeaten streak halted while AB improved to 8-1-1 and 5-1. The two teams meet again next Saturday in Philippi, W.Va.
The Yellow Jackets struck early in the cold, slippery conditions.
Zachary Harris took a pass from
John Schwien and slotted home his second goal of the campaign in the 4th minute.
The Battlers then took advantage of some misplays by the hosts to score three goals in 20 minutes for a 3-1 bulge by halftime.
AB clinched the result in the 78th minute.
Connor Gilmour added his 13th goal of the season in the 88th when he one-timed a pass in close from
Paul Messerly.
Quotable: Head Coach
Brett Faro"AB is a good team and we didn't do what we needed to in order to get a win tonight. I thought overall we did some good things and played really good soccer at times, but at the end of the day we made some defensive mistakes and they took full advantage of them.
"To give up four shots on goal and allow four goals is a tough spot to put ourselves in and a tough hole to dig ourselves out of against a quality opponent. We'll continue to move forward and look ahead to D&E on Wednesday."
Numbers Game:- CU outshot the visitors 9-7 overall and 7-4 on goal.
- Gilmour scored for the fourth straight game.
