Lady Jackets run out of time at Findlay

Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio - Cedarville's second half rally came up short at Findlay resulting in a 2-1 setback in a non-conference women's soccer match.

It was the first of three games this week for the Lady Jackets, 2-6 overall.

The contest was scoreless until the Oilers, 3-5, netted two quick goals near the end of the opening frame in the 36th and 38th minutes.

Cedarville cut the deficit in half in the 53rd. Creslyn Van Dyck scored her first career goal with Olivia Moore assisting.

UF had the edge in shots overall, 11-3, and on goal, 8-2.

Freshman keeper Allison Garlock came up with six saves.

Quotable: Head Coach Jonathan Meade

"We started slow and put ourselves in a hole. However, in the second half we played with great enthusiasm and started to climb out, but just ran out of time.

"We felt good about fighting back, but we need to start a game, take charge, and then finish strong. I believe that type of play is within reach."

Five Facts:
  • Van Dyck had five career assists before scoring her first-ever goal.
  • Moore's assist was her first point of the season.
  • Findlay leads the all-time series, 2-1.
  • The Oilers join the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2017-18.
