Yellow Jackets rally for win in overtime

Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. - Sebastian Duque's goal in the 101st minute gave Cedarville a thrilling 3-2 win over Bellarmine in double overtime in a non-conference game at Davis & Elkins.

The Yellow Jackets, 1-1, never held the lead until the golden goal.

The Knights led 1-0 at the break following a goal in the 38th minute. Sean Reilly equalized in the 59th on his first career score from John Schwien.

After Bellarmine regained the lead in the 77th minute, Jon Brown tied it less than three minutes later.

Kyle Nikerle set up Duque for the winner. The Knights were playing a man down after having received a red card late in regulation.

Paulo Pinto made eight saves and the CU defense was credited with another.

Quotable: Head Coach Brett Faro

"It was a gutty performance from our guys. We didn't have our best today and Bellarmine made it difficult for us. It would have been easy to give in and say it wasn't our day.

"I'm proud of the way we fought back twice and showed a resilience to believe in each other and bend, but not break.

"We have two conference games this week and we know we need to get better in order to get off to a good start."

Five Facts:
  • Duque's other career goal came in a 5-0 win over Ohio Valley in the 2015 regular season finale.
