SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -
Nora Hagan burned up the 60 meter dash and
Sarah Himes broke her own school record in the weight throw to help the Lady Jackets come out on top at the Wittenberg Opener.
Hagan made her collegiate debut by breaking the school record in the 60 prelims in 7.77 seconds.
She smashed that mark by winning the final in 7.63 which also meets the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.
Himes won the weight throw with a heave of 53-3.50 (16.24 meters) to eclipse her previous record by nearly a foot.
Alexandra Brizzi was second in the 60 meter dash in 7.72 seconds which is the second-fastest time in CU history.
Haleigh Eckert won the pole vault by clearing 11-11.75 (3.65m) while
Emma Bailey was the runner-up in the shot put at 39-7.75 (12.08m).
Britain Musick ran the 60 meter hurdles in 8.99 seconds in the prelims which ties for fifth on the Jackets' all-time list.
Cedarville won the 13-team meet with 96 points. Denison was the runner-up (71) and Centre was third (61).
