BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -
Alexandra Brizzi and
Britain Musick posted some of the best marks in school history in their respective events to highlight Cedarville's closing day at Western Kentucky University's Hilltopper Relays.
Brizzi was the runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 24.85 (tied for #8 on CU's all-time list) and placed fourth in the 100 in 12.16 (#6 at CU).
Musick's sixth-place time in the 100 meter hurdles of 14.70 seconds is No. 6 in the Top 10.
Both runners were also part of the 4 x 100 meter relay unit along with
Haleigh Eckert and
Caroline Schaeckenbach that placed fourth in 49.92 seconds - Cedarville's sixth-fastest effort.
Rachel Sweeney-Bredeson led a 1-2-3 Lady Jacket finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at 11:07.08. She was followed by
Remington Hobson (11:40.78) and
Becky Madsen (11:46.79).
Bredeson was the runner-up in the 1,500 in 4:35.40.
Bethany Sholl took third (4:36.21) and
Naomi Herman was seventh (4:41.16).
Emily Walsh finished second in the 800 meters (2:18.32) and Schaeckenbach was seventh in the 400 meter hurdles (1:06.25).
In the field events,
Sarah Himes placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 130-0 (39.63 meters).
Stinger Notes:
- Brizzi's and Musick's times were all personal bests
- Former All-American sprinter Alexa Winik previously held all Top 10 marks in the 200 meters in school history
- On Friday, Savannah Ackley won the 5K (17:25.34) and Hannah Rhem was second (17:35.97)
- High jumper Hannah Willow was the top performer in the field events on Day 1 finishing sixth by clearing 5-3 (1.60m)
