OWENSBORO, Ky. -
Britain Musick broke the school record in the 100 meter hurdles and the Lady Jackets finished fifth in the G-MAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Musick was the runner-up in a time of 14.18 seconds which took 0.26 seconds off the old mark which stood for 14 years. She also met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.
Bethany Sholl placed second in the 5,000 meters in 17:06.89 and
Rachel Sweeney-Bredeson was third in 17:16.45.
Both times rank among Cedarville's Top 10 - Sholl is No. 4 and Bredeson is No. 8
Emily Walsh was third in the 1,500 in 4:43.30 and
Katie Hadley placed fourth in the triple jump at 35-7.25 (10.85 meters).
Alexandra Brizzi was fifth in both the 100 and 200 meter finals. Her clocking in the 100 of 12.0 seconds ties for fourth on the Lady Jackets' all-time list.
Emma Bailey placed ninth in the shot put, but her heave of 43-0.50 (13.12m) ties for second best in the program's history.
Hillsdale won the team title with 179.67 points. Rounding out the top five were Findlay (160), Ashland (118), Tiffin (109.83), and Cedarville (102.50).
Bredeson was also presented the Elite 25 Award for having the highest GPA among all competing athletes.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
Bredeson finished third to lead a pack of four Lady Jackets in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
She was timed in 10:44.83 - the fourth fastest time in school history.
Alayna Ackley was fourth (11:02.73),
Becky Madsen placed fifth (11:50.88), and
Cecily Holliday took sixth (11:50.99).
Bryn Mozzi finished eighth in the heptathlon by totaling 3,379 points.
DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Alayna Ackley broke the school record and placed second in the 10,000 meters. She posted a time of 34:58.07 to wipe out the previous standard by more than 21 seconds.
Sholl, who held the 10K record for a month, was fourth in 35:30.70 - the third-fastest time in school history.
Savannah Ackley placed fifth (35:47.07) and
Naomi Herman was sixth (36:08.58). Those marks rate No. 7 and No. 9, respectively, on CU's Top 10.
Hannah Rhem finished seventh in 36:58.26.
Haleigh Eckert took seventh in the pole vault by clearing 12-1.25 (3.69 meters). It's the fifth-best performance ever by a Lady Jacket.
