EVANSVILLE, Ind. -
Hannah Rhem placed second and Cedarville repeated as runner-up in the Midwest Region Women's Cross Country Championship.
The Lady Jackets automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in Joplin, Mo. on Nov. 18.
Rhem was clocked in 20:08.8 for the 6,000 meters at the Angel Mounds State Park.
She led a quartet of CU runners that made the all-region team (Top 25 finishers).
Freshman
Abby Drosdak placed 15th in 20:57.6,
Corinne Lynch was 18th in 21:01.4, and
Savannah Ackley came in 21st in 21:12.5.
Rounding out the lineup were
Naomi Herman (31st; 21:32.8),
Aubrey Harrington (37th; 21:38.1), and
Audrianna Enns (51st; 21:47.1). There were a total of 226 competitors.
As expected, top-ranked Grand Valley State repeated as champion with 28 points. Cedarville totaled 87 points and Lewis was third with 92.
The Lady Jackets entered the meet ranked No. 16 in the latest USTFCCCA Division II poll and Lewis was No. 9.
