ALLENDALE, Mich. –
Matt Schaeckenbach hit a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying standards to kick off the indoor season at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open.
The junior from Iowa City, Iowa placed third in the high jump by clearing 6-10.75 (2.10 meters).
The mark tied for No. 2 in program history and is the best since Joel Smith hit 6-10.75 at the 2005 NAIA Indoor Championship.
Schaeckenbach took fourth place in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.08 seconds which ties for eighth on the CU Top 10.
Jeremy Johnson was the other Yellow Jacket competing in the meet. He finished third in the 400 meters (48.78) and was 12th in the 200 (22.36).
