SPRINGFIELD, Ohio –
Josh Paul extended his school record in the triple jump by more than a foot to highlight Cedarville's showing at the Wittenberg Opener.
His winning mark of 47-9.25 (14.56 meters) inside The Steemer was 14 inches further than his previous record and also met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard.
Brandon Rogers is also a provisional qualifier in the 400 meters with a time of 48.03 seconds which was good enough to finish third. It was the seventh-fastest time in program history.
Two other Yellow Jackets posted victories including
Andrew Suter in the pole vault with a mark of 15-feet even (4.57m).
Calvin Speicher ran to a win in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.24 seconds.
Eden Antrim was the runner-up in the mile (4:19.16) and
Nehemiah Barrett was second in the high jump (6-7.75; 2.03m).
The Jackets are off until January 23 when they host the Cedarville Collegiate Invite at the Doden Field House.
