ASHLAND, Ohio - Cedarville set four school records and placed fourth overall in the G-MAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at Ashland University.
The 4 x 400 meter relay unit of
Michael Braxton,
Jeremy Johnson,
Brandon Rogers, and
Jaden Johnson obliterated the old CU record by more than two seconds.
Their runner-up time of 3:10.37 is currently the fourth-fastest in the country and they'll advance to the NCAA Division II Championship in Indianapolis in two weeks.
Rogers was third in the 400 meters in a school record time of 47.57 seconds and
Jeremy Johnson was fifth in 47.80.
Calvin Speicher and
Matt Schaeckenbach finished 1-2 in the 60 meter hurdles. Speicher's winning time of 8.05 seconds equaled the school record while Schaeckenbach's 8.08 effort was a PR.
Caleb Sultan placed fourth in the 800 meters in 1:50.82 to break the program record set 24 years ago by CU Hall of Famer Eddie Nehus.
On Day 1, Schaeckenbach won the high jump competition for the second straight year by matching his PR by clearing 6-10.25 (2.09 meters) - the same mark he hit in winning last winter.
