ASHLAND, Ohio -
Josh Paul snapped Cedarville's 30-year old triple jump record on the final day of the G-MAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
The freshman from Naples, Fla. soared 48-4.75 (14.75 meters) to place second and break Bobby Polack's mark set on May 5, 1995.
Caleb Sultan took third in the ultra-competitive 800 meter finals in 1:51.21 - the fifth-fastest time in school history.
Matt Schaeckenbach had a good day in the hurdles finishing third in the 110 meters (14.45) and fourth in the 400 meters (54.44).
Calvin Speicher was fourth in the 110 meter hurdles (14.47) and
Kolson Kytta was fourth in the 5K (3:55.57).
The 4 x 400 meter relay unit of Sultan,
Brandon Rogers,
Michael Braxton, and
Jeremy Johnson placed third in 3:14.11 which is No. 5 on CU's Top 10.
On Thursday, Schaeckenbach grabbed first place in the high jump which was moved indoors because of inclement weather.
The Iowa City, Iowa native, who is the two-time G-MAC indoor high jump champion, cleared 6-9.50 (2.07 meters) which ties for the seventh-best jump in school history.
Ashland took the team trophy with 194 points. Rounding out the top five were Tiffin (164), Findlay (152), Walsh (76), and Cedarville (68).
