CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville powered to a 2–0 victory over Governors State in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate action giving the program its first-ever Esports win.
The Yellow Jackets took the best two-of-three series by set scores of 2–0 and 4–0.
Cedarville dropped the opening stock battle in Game 1, but quickly rallied behind strong play from
Logan Hallock, who turned the tide with three straight wins to push the Jackets ahead.
Andrew Adkins sealed the set with a 2–0 sweep giving CU the early advantage.
In Set 2,
Mathias Hahn set the tone with an early win.
Mark Merchant extended the lead before Adkins closed the night in dominant fashion, winning back-to-back matches to finish off a 4–0 sweep.
