ASHLAND, Ohio – Cedarville won four events and set three school records at the G-MAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship.
Triple jump specialist
Josh Paul highlighted Day 2 with a school-record winning mark of 48-10.75 (14.90 meters) inside the Niss Athletic Center.
Brandon Rogers sprinted to victory in the 400 meters in 47.11 seconds – the second-fastest time in school history.
He led off the winning 4 x 400 meter relay unit which included
David Gerdin,
Michael Braxton, and
Jeremy Johnson. Their time was 3:10.38 – No. 3 on the Jackets' Top 10.
Matt Schaeckenbach won the high jump for the third straight year with a school-record mark of 7-1 (2.16m).
He and
Calvin Speicher stepped up in the 60 meter hurdles. Speicher broke the school record in the prelims with a 7.93 clocking and Schaeckenbach was at 7.95 with ranks second at CU.
Schaeckenbach was fourth in the final and Speicher was fifth – both timed in 7.99.
Caleb Sultan was the runner-up in the 800 meters with a 1:51.07 effort and
Joey Merrill was third in the 3K in 8:20.40.
Ashland won the team trophy with 140 points to edge out runner-up Tiffin (133.5). The rest of the top five included Findlay (104), Cedarville (90.5), and Hillsdale (64.5).
