MIDLAND, Mich. – Cedarville split a G-MAC doubleheader at Northwood on Tuesday, falling 8-2 before earning a 5-4 comeback win in game two.
In the opener, Northwood scored six early runs to take control.
Brynley Rung drove in Cedarville's first run in the second, and
Anna Gardner added a solo home run in the seventh.
Game two saw Cedarville respond with 10 hits and a late rally. After tying the game in the fifth on a
Camryn Taktak sacrifice fly, the Lady Jackets scored three times in the sixth behind RBI hits from
Chesnie Patton and
Anna Weathers.
Northwood tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, but Gardner delivered the decisive blow in the seventh with a double that led to the go-ahead run as the Lady Jackets improved to 15-29 overall and 6-12 in the G-MAC.
