Cedarville sweeps doubleheader with offensive surge

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Cedarville earned a doubleheader sweep of Walsh winning by scores of 19-2 and 11-8.

The Yellow Jackets set the tone early in Game 1, erupting for six runs in the first inning on their way to a 19-run, 18-hit performance.

Max Doepker highlighted the opening frame with a grand slam and later picked up the win on the mound. Graham Ward went 4-for-4 with four RBI, while Danny DeMoss also drove in four runs as Cedarville controlled the game throughout.

Cedarville carried that momentum into Game 2, building a 9-0 lead through six innings. Eli Henderson delivered four RBI, including a key two-run single, and Cooper Martin added a 3-for-4 effort with a home run and three runs scored.

Walsh mounted a late rally, scoring five runs over the final three innings, but the Yellow Jackets held on.

Trey Tipton recorded the final three outs to seal the win, while Branton Dickey picked up the victory with 5.2 innings pitched as Cedarville improved to 19-25 overall and 13-15 in the G-MAC.
