"No-nos" put Ledbetter at No. 5

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Hard-throwing righthander David Ledbetter was credited with not one, but two no-hitters during the 2012 baseball season thus nailing down spot No. 5 on CU's Top 10 in '11-12.

The Yellow Jackets traveled to Madisonville, Tenn. on March 16, 2012 for a three-game series with Hiwasee. Rain plagued the entire weekend and the two teams only completed five innings of the opener which was enough for Ledbetter to register his first no-hitter.

The sophomore from Fishers, Ind. faced 18 batters total in the 5-0 win. He struck out six, walked one, and hit another.

Two weeks later in Clarksburg, W.Va., it was a 16-0 drubbing at Salem International in which Ledbetter fired his second no-hitter. He faced two batters over the minimum in the seven-inning contest with 10 strikeouts and a walk.

Ledbetter finished the season 7-3 with one save and a 1.62 ERA. He also earned NCCAA All-America honors for the second consecutive year.
