WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - NAIA Division II #3 Bethel (Ind.) finished with a 14-4 run to defeat #8 Cedarville, 76-66, in the first round of the Northwood Invitational.
The Yellow Jackets turned around an eight-point second-half deficit into a 60-57 lead with 7:30 left. The final tie of the contest was 62-62 at the 6:15 mark when the Pilots answered with eight straight points to take control.
Chris Beals was the lone player in double figures for Cedarville with a game-high 25 points. Ricardo Alliman was held to eight points - 10 below his average Derrick Hannon tallied eight points and five assists.
The Yellow Jackets were checked on 39 percent shooting while Bethel hit on 52 percent of its shots. The Pilots won for the seventh straight time to improve to 13-1.
