HURRICANE, W.Va. - Cedarville dominated the doubles and then claimed all the singles matches in straight sets to blank West Virginia State, 9-0, in a non-conference match to begin the 2009 season. The contest was played indoors.
The Yellow Jackets claimed the first three points in doubles with the top tandem of Kevin Furst and Brent Martin winning, 8-4. Caleb Speicher and Kyle DeBoer (8-0) as well as Kyle Kirby and Jeff Whitcomb (8-3) also secured points.
Furst was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at #1 singles. Also posting victories were Martin (6-2, 6-2), Speicher (6-1, 6-1), DeBoer (6-1, 6-2), Kirby (6-3, 6-0), and Evan Lavoie (6-2, 6-0). [RESULTS]
