CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Brandon Sok fueled a key run midway through the second half which carried the NAIA Division II #16 Yellow Jackets to a 71-54 victory over Northwestern Ohio on Senior Night in the Callan Athletic Center.
It was the 10th straight league win for Cedarville, 20-8 overall and 12-2 AMC, which accomplished its ninth consecutive 20-win season.
The Racers cut a 35-26 halftime deficit to three points with 12:55 left. However, the Jackets took off on a 17-1 spurt with Sok drilling back-to-back-to-back three-pointers. Once CU finished a streak of 14 unanswered points, the scoreboard blinked a 60-41 advantage at the 6:50 mark.
Ricardo Alliman worked for game-highs of 25 points and eight rebounds. Austin Foote came off the bench with 12 points while Matt Harner chipped in 11 points.
Cedarville shot 48 percent from the field compared to 39 percent for UNOH, who drops to 14-15 and 6-9 AMC. The Yellow Jackets committed just four turnovers while the Racers had 14.
Alliman was honored before the game with fellow seniors Sok, Haddon Anderson, Chris Beals, and Christopher Walker. The senior class has produced 93 victories to date in their collective careers. [STATS]
