Yellow Jackets tack on two more wins

DAYTON, Ohio - Cedarville brushed aside Miami-Hamilton 12-2 and 6-1 at Wright State's Nischwitz Stadium to run its winning streak to seven games in a row.

Paul Hembekides
It took awhile for the Yellow Jackets to get untracked in the opener. CU entered the 5th inning hitless and trailing 2-0 before striking for four runs. Paul Hembekides belted a three-run triple for the team's first three-base hit of the season to make it 4-2.

The Jackets ended it via the 10-run rule in the 6th by exploding for eight runs. Tyler Rost's three-run double highlighted the frame.

Rob Nesteroff had a pair of hits and two RBI's while Nate Davenport added two hits. Andrew York stole three bases and scored twice. Winning pitcher Michael Roe struck out five and went the distance to improve to 3-0.

Cedarville, 12-3 overall, had to come from behind in the nightcap as well after spotting the Harriers a run in the 3rd inning. The Yellow Jackets answered with three tallies in their half of the inning to take control.

Davenport produced two more hits including a double. Hembekides added two hits, three steals, and three runs scored with York and Cameron McWilliams each chipping in two hits apiece.

Ryan Hayes, 1-1, worked all seven innings for his first collegiate victory. He fanned six batters and allowed five hits.
