CLEARWATER, Fla. - Nate Davenport slugged a go-ahead home run and Dan Petke continued his torrid hitting to rally the Yellow Jackets to a 9-8 win over Lock Haven in the first game of the Clearwater Invitational.
Davenport completed a 3-for-5 day at the plate by hammering a two-run homer in the bottom of the 8th inning to account for the final. He also contributed two doubles to CU's 15-hit attack.
Petke and Andrew York went 3-for-4 while #Juan Martinez, Jr. added a pair of hits. Alex Beelen# had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBI's. Cedarville improved its record to 5-0 overall.
#T.J. Taylor# tossed the final 1 1/3 innings to get his second victory of the young season. He followed up starting pitcher Logan Kasabian and reliever Rob Wasem.
